When Seas Rage

Matthew 8:24 “…a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.” (NIV)*

When winds howl loud and waves crash high, our gut cries out to the God of our soul. And we wonder where He is.

Jesus restores calm at the very core. Maybe He doesn’t immediately change circumstances as we’d like, but He restores peace within. He can calm the raging storm and quiet crashing waves. His very presence can bring an unexplainable rest, despite the wave swept boat.

The One who created the wind and sea brings peace in the storms of life. Find rest, then, in the tamer of the raging sea.

Matthew 8:26 “…Why are you so afraid? Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.” (NIV)*

Matthew 8:27 “…What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” (NIV)*
