A life is a book

“You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everybody. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” 2 Corinthians 3:2-3*

As eyes skim

to find a good read —

may my life

be open to share.

………

As hearts wait

with pages to fill —

may heaven’s ink

spill there.

Hearts are made of pages…places to write God’s love. Some hearts are ready and willing to receive a good word. Others bear graffiti — longing to be doused with a bucket of mercy and grace. All the while reaching for purpose and longing for more.

A man-made book won’t last forever. Time will see to that. But a heart is eternal. Forever. And the quality of that life, the ultimate destination of that soul, can be affected by someone pouring in some good ink. Encouraging them in a way they can eventually pass on to other human hearts. To share their book. Their life.

We were all meant to be authors…to influence another life. To write on lives by sharing ours — from one generation to the next.

So go ahead. Start writing.
